Mischa

Mischa is an 11 year old German Shepherd. She had a successful 10 year K9 career at the San Diego Harbor Police providing detection services for the San Diego International Airport and the surrounding Tidelands, and Seaport. Some of her day to day working activities included airport sweeps, cruise ship sweeps, dignitary sweeps, random searches Including cargo, and public visibility sweeps. Mischa was a fast and efficient searcher with an amazing nose. She loved working and especially liked doing K9 demonstrations for the kids. Mischa was a quirky working dog and sometimes a borderline Drama Queen. Whenever a new working K9 came onto scene, she would have to meet them, give them the “lick” of approval prior to her being okay with them working around her. In other words, she needed to be acknowledged and noticed!! She has a very loving demeanor and loves all the boys (men and boy doggos)! She greets everyone with gusto!! Mischa loves being around people, likes to be petted, nose scratches, and kisses. If you don’t pet her immediately, she will sit and stare at you, and believe me, she can win any staring contest. This could be a testament to her stubborn streak. Mischa has embraced the retirement life. She loves being lazy. I find her all over the house sleeping with her ball next to her or in her mouth. She loves the couch, her hooman’s bed, the dog bed, and laying by the front and back door looking outside. She also loves hanging outside on the back porch watching for lizzards. One thing Mischa misses in retirement, is going to work with her Hooman. She misses riding in the car and always being around someone. So on her Hooman’s day off she loves going on car rides and hanging out at dog friendly restaurants/breweries/parks, and camping. Mischa loves when the grandbabies come to visit. She follows them around waiting for snackoos to drop on the ground.
