Howoard was assigned to the 316th Security Support Squadron Joint Base Andrews, Howard was a critical asset at the Department of War’s largest operational Military Working Dog Kennel. Howard conducted 16,000 hours of explosive detection, clearing 2,500 vehicles, 36 National Airborne Operations Center and 150 Presidential movements. Additionally, Howard was pivotal in supporting 15 Secret Service missions, including the Republic National Convention, the United Nations General Assembly, and the first ever U.S. Presidential visit to Angola for the Lobito Corridor Summit. Futhermore, Howard helped secure 4 National Special Security Events to include the 46th and 47th Presidential Inauguration, President Carter’s State Funeral, and the Army’s 250th parade. Finally, Howard was key in locating and apprehending 3 armed and dangerous felons in 2 separate major incidents.
