Goose Ryder

Goose started out his career as a drug canine on patrol for the Fountain Police Department from November 2020. The State of Colorado then legalized psilocybin mushrooms (shrooms) and Goose was unable to work as a drug detection dog and was retired from parol in November of 2023. Goose was repurposed over to our School Resource Officer Unit (SRO) as a District 8 drug detection canine and mostly worked at Fountain-Fort Carson High School before he retired in June of 2025. Goose’s favorite toy is any type of ball but tennis balls are is absolute favorite. He doesn’t destroy them, he just likes to carry them around in his mouth and proudly show it off. Goose loves treats and is not picky at all when it comes to food! He absolutely loves to work but he also loves attention and likes to be pet/belly rubs. He has really high expectations in retirement after being loved on by thousands of kids every for his last two years of work. If Goose isn’t sleeping in his downtime, he likes to follow mom everywhere she goes, make his baby brother laugh, chase squirrels outside in his backyard, or play fetch.
