K-9 Uva proudly served her country as an ATF Explosives Detection K-9 in Washington D.C. from 2017-2020. She is trained to find bombs, guns, ammunition, and 19,000 different explosive compounds. As a Search Enhanced Evidence K-9 (S.E.E.K.) Uva is trained to deploy off leash to targets 200 yards away to search for explosive odor. Using a whistle, hand signals and a communication collar her handler is able to direct Uva’s work remotely. Uva has conducted hundreds of security sweeps, routine as well as for special events. She’s swept motorcades, venues and hotel rooms of many important politicians, dignitaries and celebrities. Uva had a working partnership with many local, State and Federal agencies such as State Department, U.S. Marshals Service, CIA, Fairfax County Bomb Squad, VA State Police and anyone who requested our assistance. Uva was utilized in search warrants, evidence searches, crime scene and post blast searches. K-9 Uva worked and lived with her family in the Washington D.C. area but deployed nationwide. At least once a week Uva was requested for a K-9 demo by the ATF HQ, Canine Training Center and Academy as well as other agencies, organizations, media and schools. She was extremely popular because of her sweet disposition and entertaining antics!
