Louie

K-9 Louie is named after fallen Navy Seal CPO1 Jason D. Lewis who was killed on a mission in Iraq in 2007. K-9 Louie was donated to HPD by The Hometown Foundation based out of Connecticut. He was certified as a Patrol/Explosives canine. During his career K-9 Louie assisted in locating evidence used to solve a homicide. He has apprehended several shooting and robbery suspects and was awarded two Chiefs coin of excellence during his career. K-9 Louie was recognized by the FBI in assisting with an explosive scan at a local airport where he was used to scan the travelers disembarking from the plane. K-9 Louie has assisted several other jurisdictions with explosive scans during his carer with HPD.
